Register for CHSE 328A: Common Ground Deliberative Dialogues

“Common Ground Deliberative Dialogues” (CHSE 328A) is a 1-credit, 7-week course that will run from October 20th through December 8th. The dialogues will take place on Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. in the Art-Sociology Building. This course is open to all undergraduate students and is currently pending approval for the “cultural competency” (DVCC) GenEd requirement. Here are some reasons you should enroll:

  • This is a unique opportunity to engage in student-led conversations with your peers about hot-button societal issues such as immigration reform, abortion laws, and social media and cancel culture.
  • You will have a say about what issue you’ll be exploring in this course. After enrolling, students will be sent a Google Form where they will be able to vote on the topic of the dialogue.
  • It is only a half-semester commitment and you will earn credit.

If you are interested in enrolling, you can go here or search for “CHSE 328A” on Testudo. Please note that because this course does not begin until the second half of the semester, the traditional add/drop deadline does not apply. You are able to enroll in the course at any point before October 20th. If you have any questions, contact Ben Beltran at bbeltran@umd.edu.
