The Department of Criminology & Criminal Justice and the Student Government Association are co-sponsoring a speaker event to host Professor Erica Suter on April 10th from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Charles Carroll Room in the Stamp Student Union. Suter is the Director of the Innocence Project Clinic at the University of Baltimore School of Law and Adnan Syed’s attorney. She will be discussing Adnan Syed’s case and its developments, the Innocence Project, and the prevalence of wrongful convictions in the criminal justice system. CP Flea is a pop-up outdoor flea market that will showcase various student-run small businesses selling vintage and handmade goods to promote sustainable shopping. The fashion industry accounts for an astonishing 10% of carbon emissions and is one of the biggest polluters in the world. CP Flea encourages college students to shop purposefully while discouraging the “disposable” mentality so prevalent in the world of fast fashion. A portion of all sales proceeds will be donated to Remake, a nonprofit organization that advocates for fair pay and climate justice in the clothing industry. This event is organized as part of DCC student Samantha Liu's capstone project. |
