Are you interested in developing research skills while exploring topics connected to the African Diaspora? Roots Across the Diaspora: Undergraduate Research Initiative is now accepting applications. Designed for Honors students, this initiative offers an opportunity to build research skills, connect with others within the Honors community, and explore culturally personal and scholarly connections to Black global experiences. Past research topics have included medical distrust within the Black community, misogynoir in media, Black women’s identity and social expectations, racial representation in young adult dystopian fiction, constructions of Black identity across the African Diaspora, and so much more!
Applications are open through September 9, 2026, with sessions beginning the week of September 14, 2026.
