Want to take a course that focuses on dialogue and conversations? Join the Deliberative Dialogue Course and discover the art of informed conversation. You will get to dive into thought-provoking discussions on hot-button societal issues, learn to bridge divides and amplify your voice for positive change.
Common Ground Deliberative Dialogues (CHSE 328C) is a 1-credit, 7-week course that will run from October 23 through December 11. The dialogues will take place on Thursdays from 4-6 p.m. This course is open to all undergraduate students and fulfills the “cultural competency” (DVCC) GenEd requirement. Here are some additional reasons you should enroll:
- This is a unique opportunity to engage in student-led conversations with your peers about hot-button societal issues such as immigration reform, abortion laws, social media and cancel culture, and many other topics.
- You will have a say about what issue you’ll be exploring in this course. After enrolling, students will fill out a Google Form where they will be able to vote on the topic of the dialogue.
- It’s only a half-semester commitment led by trained undergraduate leaders, and you will earn credit.

Please note that because this course does not begin until the second half of the semester, the traditional add/drop deadline does not apply, but you have to be in our system before you can register on Testudo.
