The UMD Office of Student Orientation and Transition is seeking applicants to join their newest cohort of TAs to lead, educate, mentor and support new Terps. TAs co-facilitate a section of UNIV100, UMD’s one-credit seminar. This course is designed to help new students get the most out of their first semester, alongside a faculty or staff member.
UNIV100 TAs are considered student leaders and foundational members of the Office of Student Orientation and Transition. They are trained in leadership development, communication skills, helping skills and educational pedagogy to help form meaningful relationships with incoming first-year students. Learn more in the full position description or attend an information session. No prior TA experience or enrollment in UNIV100 is necessary. They will provide all the necessary training.
