Dialogue Grant Group at UMD seeking paid social media and outreach intern

The Dialogue Grant Group at UMD is seeking to hire a paid student intern to assist with social media and outreach for 10 hours/week beginning in January (flexible start date) and continuing through the Spring 2023 semester.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Social Media/Communication. Create social media images, email and website banners, and other images to be used for marketing. In partnership with supervisor(s) and communications staff, help develop a social media/communication plan and calendar. Craft messages to the campus community regarding course registration, benefits, and important events and deadlines.
  • Outreach. Engage with relevant student organizations to promote dialogue. Connect with campus-based organizations and groups to maximize social media reach (Office of Diversity and Inclusion, University Marketing and Communications, SGA, Class Councils, Resident Life, Stamp, etc). Cross-promote other campus events relevant to dialogue and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Education. Provide resources to the campus community about dialogue-related issues. Track how issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion are being discussed in the media and on social media (to inform dialogue


The student intern will be paid a stipend and will be expected to work 10 hours each week. The work schedule is flexible. Will begin no later than the beginning of the Spring 2023 semester, though there is flexibility to start earlier during Winter 2023.
