Nabeela Alam joined the Honors College in June 2023 as the Business Coordinator. She assists with HR/payroll
and functions related to foundations and scholarships. Prior to joining the Honors College, she worked at the VPR-Applied Research Lab for Intelligence and Security (2017-2023), processing purchasing, travel and other accounting-related tasks. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Toronto (Canada).
Nabeela's first position at UMD was at the College of Computers, Mathematical and Natural Sciences dean’s
office (2007-2011), followed by the School of Languages of Literature and Cultures (2011-
2012). Her work is primarily in accounting (purchasing, travel, reimbursements, financial management
and other business matters). She also took a break to be a stay-at-home mom for 5 five years (2012-
2017).
