USA Study Abroad, part of the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), and its Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program are pleased to invite students, faculty and staff across campus to attend the 2022 International Education Week virtual event: "From Study Abroad to the State Department: How Developing Global Perspectives Supports U.S. Foreign Policy." This two-hour webinar will feature an interview with Secretary of State Antony Blinken exploring how U.S. diplomatic work impacts the lives of the American people and how studying abroad furthers the State Department's foreign policy mission.

Startup Shell is hosting events on entrepreneurship and startups from some impressive speakers in November 2022. Kat Close will present "Building Your Brand" on November 22 at 5 p.m. at the IDEA Factory.

It can be hard finding people who empathize with the unique experiences that come with being a first-generation student, so come join the Honors College, College Park Scholars and Carillon Communities as we come together to host a First-Generation Networking Social with faculty, staff and other students. Light refreshments will be served. No dress code.

On Thursday, December 1, The Anwar Sadat Chair for Peace and Development and the College of Behavior and Social Sciences at the University of Maryland, College Park will hold The Sadat Forum: A Conversation with U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen on the Impact of the Election on Domestic and Foreign Policy.

The Study Abroad Fair is back on campus after three years. The fair will showcase 250+ opportunities for study abroad with UMD. 

The University of Maryland Black Alumni Network’s goal is to increase the number of Black blood donors by holding nationwide and local blood drives. About half of the African American community has type O+ blood, which is the most transfused blood type. Sickle cell disease is the most common genetic blood disease in the U.S. and primarily affects Black and African American individuals.
