The Immersive Research Internship Experience (IRIE) is a summer research experience and professional development opportunity designed for all UMD undergraduates, including those without prior research experience.
IRIE is operated in collaboration with the well-established undergraduate research program known as the First-Year Innovation & Research Experience (FIRE). IRIE has been in operation for four summers and typically enrolls nearly 150 undergraduate students from a wide range of fields.
