“Common Ground Deliberative Dialogues” (CHSE 228B) is a 1-credit, 7-week course that will run from March 27th through May 8th. The dialogues will take place on Wednesdays from 4-6 p.m. This course is open to all undergraduate students and counts for the DVCC gen-ed requirement.
Here’s a couple reasons to explore more about this course and enroll:
- This is a unique opportunity to engage in student-led conversations with your peers about hot button societal issues such as immigration reform, abortion laws, social media, cancel culture and more.
- You will have a say about what issue you’ll be exploring in this course. After enrolling, students will be sent a Google Form where they will be able to vote on the topic of the dialogue.
- This course goes beyond your traditional style course and focuses more on understanding and engaging in dialogue.
- It’s only a half-semester commitment and you will earn credit.
If you are interested in enrolling, you can go HERE or search for “CHSE 228B” on Testudo. Please note that because this course does not begin until the second half of the semester, the traditional add/drop deadline does not apply. You are able to enroll in the course at any point before March 27th. If you have any questions, you can contact Nikita Kimani at nkimani@umd.edu.
