About Jahnavi
Jahnavi is a junior Honors Terp pursuing a dual degree in government and politics (international relations) and public policy, with two minors in history and law and society. She is an alum of the Honors Humanities program and works extensively across campus to make new Terps feel like UMD is home! Aside from school, Jahnavi is involved as an Honors Ambassador, a resident assistant (RA), and a teaching assistant, and also founded a student organization. She also dances, loves to read and can usually be found somewhere in Anne Arundel Hall!

What do you like about the Honors College?
“I love the community and the people I’ve met! It has been so rewarding to meet so many different people and have so many different experiences all with an incredible group over the last few years!”
What is your passion project?
“I will be starting research into political polarization next semester and I am so excited! I’m studying the impact of polarization on democracy post-colonization, particularly in India and the United States.”
What advice do you have for prospective students going through the college application process?
“Be yourself! Don’t be afraid to get involved in what you love and pick a place that will help you do that. Being uniquely YOU is what makes your college experience incredible–trust yourself to make the right decision!”
