On Monday, March 13, 2023, the Bowie State University and University of Maryland Social Justice Alliance will host a gripping episode of Gutsy, the docu-series hosted by Hillary and Chelsea Clinton at the UMD Hoff Theater. The Clintons embarked on an unforgettable journey around the country to interview some of the world’s boldest and bravest women, including unsung heroes. This episode will feature Mrs. Dawn Collins, mother of Lt. Richard Collins III who was murdered at the University of Maryland and Ms Susan Bro, mother of Heather Heyer who was murdered near the University of Virginia. They will host both mothers for a powerful conversation about their experiences and relationship after the screening. The conversation will focus on themes of racism in America, the impact of white supremacy culture, and authentic allyship and will conclude with a call to action for our campus communities.
