“More than a Patient: A Conference on Medical Discrimination” is a student-led conference dedicated to creating a space where individuals can share their experiences with medical discrimination. The organizers are currently seeking student speakers who are willing to share their testimony with an estimated audience of 50-75 (up to 100) students.
The conference will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Adele H. Stamp Student Union. The conference will consist of student speakers, representatives from social advocacy groups, and healthcare professionals who will come together to discuss the topic of medical discrimination. All student speakers should:
- Be a student at the University of Maryland, College Park
- Have a story to share regarding their personal experiences or witnesses of medical discrimination
