UMD Ph.D. candidate Victoria Alexander is conducting dissertation research regarding UMD Black Student Demands, UMD’s response to these demands via DEI policies, and whether or not UMD’s policies improve the campus experience for Black students. Focus group participants will receive a $25 gift card for participating in one 45-60 minute focus group on Zoom.
To establish your eligibility to participate in this study, please fill out this brief survey. Once your eligibility has been confirmed, you will be contacted about participating in a virtual focus group.
Focus groups will be carried out in three groups: 1) Black UMD undergraduate students or graduate students 2) Black young alumni of UMD (having graduated between 2017 and 2024), and 3) UMD faculty or staff members that work predominantly with Black students or in a department related to the Black Student Demands.
