We are proud to announce that Chantelle Smith, the Honors College’s Assistant Director of Recruitment & Inclusive Communities, has been honored with the prestigious Terrapin Innovation Award, part of the Fearlessly Forward Awards presented by University Human Resources. This recognition celebrates Smith’s exceptional contributions and dedication to the university. Selected from over 230 nominations, Smith’s innovative efforts have significantly strengthened the institution and exemplified the spirit of progress that drives UMD forward. The Terrapin Innovation Award acknowledges individuals who foster a supportive and inclusive work environment while demonstrating outstanding commitment to the university’s mission.
Smith will be recognized at a ceremony in February 2025, attended by President Pines and other university leaders, showcasing her impactful role in advancing UMD’s excellence.
