HGLO staff Alfredo Oliveira receives two prestigious awards from American College Personnel Association (ACPA)

We are delighted to announce that Alfredo Oliveira, a valued member of the Honors Global Challenges & Solutions (HGLO) team, has received two prestigious awards from the American College Personnel Association (ACPA). Mr. Oliveira was honored with the Harold E. Cheatham Award for Innovative Practice and the Innovative Academic Support Initiative Award from ACPA’s Commission for Academic Support in Higher Education.

Mr. Oliveira currently serves as the program manager for HGLO and instructor for HGLO 100. In this role, he is dedicated to fostering student success and global awareness within the Honors College. His responsibilities include overseeing the living-learning program, coordinating events, and teaching courses that prepare students to address global challenges.

The ACPA, founded in 1924, is a leading comprehensive student affairs association that advances higher education through innovative scholarship, reflective practice, and advocacy for inclusive learning environments. With over 7,500 members representing 1,200 institutions worldwide, ACPA is committed to enhancing college student learning and professional development in student affairs.
