ACES Minor 2024

ACES Minor applications now open

The ACES Minor approaches cybersecurity education from a multidisciplinary perspective; students gain knowledge about many of the fields that intersect in cybersecurity (legal and public policy aspects, criminal justice, journalism, and computer science and engineering).

With an emphasis on hands-on experiences, students gain practical skills through coursework, seminars, group projects, internships, and research, both on and off campus, and have regular interactions with corporate and governmental leaders in the field.

The minor is housed in the Honors College and is open to students in all majors.

Admissions Requirements: Students must have a minimum cumulative 3.2 GPA, 30 university credits* completed prior to enrollment, and at least three (3) semesters remaining at UMD.

*These credits may include transfer credits, but CANNOT include AP credits, IB credits, dual-enrollment credits, or any other credits received while simultaneously enrolled in high school.

Applications are due: October 20, 2024 at 11:59pm.

Please note that the ACES minor is now on a yearly application cycle; there will NOT be a Spring application period.

Acceptance into the ACES minor is a requirement for CyberCorps: Scholarship for Service Program.
