The course AASP498E encourages students to critically explore Hip Hop Culture. This course utilizes Hip Hop Culture as a point of departure to examine and dissect various social, historical, and geopolitical issues that impact people of color around the world. The course is taught from a social-justice-oriented approach that challenges students to be solutions-oriented and to step outside of their comfort zones. AASP498E is riddled with Hip Hop History, Black history, social justice issues, media literacy, and critical thought.
