Sophomore IBH student and finance and computer science double major Ocarina Lin ’26 interned this summer at the White House’s Office of Federal Financial Management (OFFM) at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) within the Executive Office of the President. Ocarina was involved in a project that analyzed federal financial assistance programs in order to establish stronger connections between budget creation, execution and performance.
“I was excited to learn more about financial management this summer as I pursue my interest in finance at UMD. I gained experience in the public sector while working in public policy, politics and the federal government in relation to the effective management and allocation of the President’s budget. The knowledge and connections I acquired during my time at the White House will allow me to broaden my pool of potential career opportunities.”
