Sophomore Honors Humanities student and psychology major Soleil Kennerly ’26 interned this summer with PSYC Your Mind. PSYC Your Mind is a private practice organization that provides counseling, clinical outreach and mental health education with particular attention to the intersections between psychology and race.
“I could see how what I am learning at UMD is applied in the real world—with real patients and people in need. Obtaining my undergraduate degree in psychology is one of the beginning steps to reaching my end goal of obtaining licensure. I learned how to use different database systems and back-end processes for running a private practice. It was also exciting to observe therapy sessions and witness the different dynamics between virtual and in-person sessions.”
