Black Creatives Matter is seeking artists, performers and small business owners interested in showcasing or selling their work. The event will take place in April 2023.
A group of three DCC sophomores—Rita Booth, Jade LeShack, and Jedi Kouadio, all members of DCC’s Mu class—are using their DCC Capstone experience as an opportunity to launch a hopefully-annual event at UMD called Black Creatives Matter. They’ve planned for it to showcase, celebrate, and support Black artists and creatives on campus. This year’s inaugural event is tentatively planned for Sunday, April 16.
