Professor Michel Cukier was awarded the USM Board of Regents Faculty Award for Excellence in Mentoring for the ACES program in the Honors College.
The Board of Regents Faculty Award is the highest faculty honor offered in the University System of Maryland. For over a decade, Professor Cukier has pioneered and led the nation’s first and leading undergraduate honors program for cybersecurity, its multidisciplinary study and the cultivation of future cyber leaders. Key to the efforts he has pursued—along with the exceptional members of the ACES team over the years—are mentoring initiatives including the CyberConnect program, as well as other initiatives highlighting partnerships with area industry and government institutions, and the advancement of diversity and inclusion within the field of cybersecurity.
