The Honors College at the University of Maryland welcomes newly admitted students! The next steps to join the Honors College community are:
Submit Honors College living-learning program preferences by February 15, 2019
For best consideration, students must submit preferences for an Honors College living-learning program by February 15, 2019. The following links provide more information about the Honors College living-learning programs.
Honors College students and staff can answer questions about joining the Honors College.
Confirm enrollment and apply for housing by May 1, 2019
Students must confirm their enrollment and apply for housing by May 1, 2019. Every new first-year student who wishes to live on campus MUST complete the 2019-2020 Housing/Dining Services Agreement by May 1 to be eligible to live on campus. This includes Honors College students. If students do not submit their housing agreement by May 1, they are not guaranteed a room on campus. Students who are invited to Advanced Cybersecurity Experience for Students, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, and Integrated Life Sciences MUST apply for housing by May 1, 2019, or they will not be able to participate in the program.
Sign up for Orientation
Students should sign up for Orientation with the Orientation Office. Students must attend a two-day orientation program in the summer to build their fall schedules. The Honors College invites newly admitted students to attend Honors Orientation, but students also have the option to attend a regular orientation.
Sign up for an optional summer adventure trip
Students are encouraged to sign up for an optional summer adventure trip with their Honors College classmates! The Honors College has partnered with the Office of Outdoor Recreation to host kayaking, backpacking, and canoeing camping trips for incoming Honors College students. The trips are a fantastic and fun opportunity for students to meet and bond with other incoming honors students.
