DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, December 1\, The Anwar Sadat Chair for Peace and Development and the College of Behavior and Social Sciences at the University of Maryland\, College Park will hold The Sadat Forum: A Conversation with U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen on the Impact of the Election on Domestic and Foreign Policy. \nRe-elected this November\, Senator Van Hollen has represented the State of Maryland in the U.S. Senate since being elected in 2016. He is a member of the Senate Committee on Appropriations and Chairman of the Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government; a member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and Chairman of the Subcommittee on Africa and Global Health Policy. \nThe event will be moderated by Professor Shibley Telhami\, the Anwar Sadat Professor for Peace and Development and Director of the University of Maryland Critical Issues Poll\, with introductory remarks delivered by Dean Susan Rivera of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences. \nFor questions\, please contact the Sadat Chair office at sadatoffice@umd.edu or (301) 405-6734.
