Spend a Day With an Honors Student

Three Honors Ambassadors

Honors Ambassadors is a student group of current honors students who represent the Honors College at recruitment events. Honors Ambassadors are available to host prospective students on select days during the year. New students can explore the everyday life of an honors student, from classes to campus activities. The Honors College makes every effort to match students with current Honors students who share similar academic interests depending on availability.

The Host-A-Day with an honors student program is open to high school seniors who have been invited to the Honors College for fall 2017. For interested high school sophomores and juniors, fall visitation dates are available each year. Please check the website for upcoming fall dates or contact honors@umd.edu.

Spring 2017 visitation dates:

February 22-April 28 (Weekdays, excluding Feb. 20, Mar. 3, Mar. 10, Mar. 31, and Apr. 7)
8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Spring 2017 semester requests will be accepted from February 8-April 14. Requests to be hosted must be submitted at least two weeks in advance. The Honors College will make every effort to accommodate requests, but cannot guarantee availability. Requests are filled on a first come, first served basis. Students would allow at least one week from the request submission date to receive information regarding the scheduled visit.

The online request form for Host-A-Day will be available by February 8. Questions about the program can be sent to honors@umd.edu.

Please note: The Host-A-Day with an honors student program is for students only. Parents are encouraged to find alternative activities during their student’s visit. In addition, this program is not a campus tour or overnight program. Students and families interested in taking a tour of the University of Maryland should contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at (301) 314-8385 or explore Visit Maryland options. For information on overnight UMD visits, please contact the Department of Resident Life’s Overnight Stay Program at (301) 314-4255 or online.
